Winter 2017 – What I’m Continuing

Yep, nothing has really started yet but Autumn and 2016 are done. I still don’t know what I am watching this season so this list is just the anime I’m continuing on from last season.

At this stage all that’s on my list and where I am up to:

  • March Comes in Like a Lion (Ep 11)
  • Iron Blooded Orphans (Ep 38)
  • Trickster (Ep 12)

I’m really hoping I pick up enough shows to drop Trickster but the other two I’m really happy to continue with for now. As I add shows they’ll show up in my weekly overview.

So far I’ve tried Akiba’s Trip and Masamune-Kun’s Revenge and the reviews for the first episodes of these will be up tomorrow.

I’ve also tried Saga of Tanya the Evil, Fuuka, Schoolgirl Strikers and Blue Exorcists and reviews of these first episodes (whether I’m continuing them or not) will be up over the next week.

Also, I have started my long put off watch of Hunter x Hunter and Haikyu so depending on how many shows I pick up during the season I may review these episodically or I might just do occasional updates on them. Or I might end up dropping them. Who knows? The other show I might end up watching from last season is Brave Witches but again that depends on what I pick up in the next few weeks.

What are you watching/continuing this season?

    1. Sangatsu is definitely continuing strongly. It’s one show I’m genuinely excited about watching (continuing) this season. I haven’t watched Gintama since season 1 – didn’t dislike it but didn’t really feel any pressing reason to continue.

  1. oh man the next season already started?? xD i think i’m just going to follow super lovers and blue exorcist, i haven’t really looked at whats coming out

for the most part i’ll be catching up on some older shows ive been meaning to watch πŸ™‚

  2. I guess the most definite anime I will be able to check out are Little Witch Academia and Yowamushi Pedal: New Generation. I plan on watching others like the S2 of Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu (but I’ve got to watch S1) and Gintama (but I’ve got to catch up to it first).

  3. I was thinking of following Blue Exorcist. I enjoyed the first season well enough and it seems like an ideal show to test my patience on. Will the whole waiting one week deal work for me? Anyhow, looking forward to your reviews.

  4. Showa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu, definitely. First episode was a little meh, but I think I’m gonna thoroughly enjoy it. πŸ™‚

Everything is pretty much filler. I’m quite intrigued for the Dragon Dentist, but I think it’s only a few episodes long, and it won’t air until next month or something.

  5. Fuuka is a definite. It has me until the end. I’m waiting to see how Saga of Tanya the Evil turns out, but Masamune-kun no Revenge I think is the type of show which if you just watch, it’ll be ok, but to really sit and analyze it you’ll either end up bored, frustrated, or pulling things out of your behind. Seiren seems kind of meh and generic, since it just didn’t make a strong first impression.

Still waiting on ACCA, Chaos;Child, Kobayashi-san Chi no Maidragon, Kuzu no Honkai and of course the various movies/OVas of the season. Sword Art Online, Kizumonogatari III, and Hirune Hime: Shiranai Watashi no Monogatari. Also the 4th Digimon movie.

  6. I’ll continue watching Trickster, hoping it get somewhere and Nanbaka cause I’m always ready for a good laugh.
As for the new anime I put on my list Chain Chronicle: The Light of Haecceitas, I have a 1st impression post coming for this one, Saga of Tanya the Evil, I quite enjoyed the 1st ep., Spiritpact, ACCA and Hand Shakers. Still haven’t decide if I should add Chaos: Child to this list. I’ml wondering if i should watch Chaos: Head before.

    1. I would probably never recommend watching Chaos;Head at any point, not that it is truly dreadful but it is kind of in the camp of so bad it’s kind of entertaining.

  7. We have an extensive watch list (inspired quite a bit by your willingness to give everything a try). I’m excited about Granblue Fantasy. I’m looking forward to your reviews!

  8. There’s not many anime I’m interested in from this winter season, I’ll be watching only three: ACCA, Scum’s Wish and Δ“lDLIVE. I might watch other series too depending on what others write about them. I also plan to watch a few that aired in previous seasons and rewatch some of my favorites.

  9. I was kind of surprised when I saw Trickster still on your list, but then your explanation cleared that up πŸ˜€

I don’t know how you feel about historical stuff, but you may want to try Onihei. I believe only Amazon Prime has picked it up though. We’ll know by Thursday.

HxH from my limited experience takes a little while to ramp up. If you have nothing else interesting you this season maybe it’s worthwhile to stick with that until you get into it.

  10. Hmm not sure what I’ll be watching this season. I have some shows bookmarked as potential watches but I’m always open to recommendations. I’m currently watching The Knight in the Area and I’m looking forward to continue watching Dragon Ball Super. I most likely will be re-watching Yona of the Dawn and Attack on Titan.

  11. ACCA, Onihei, Urara Meirochou, Little Witch Academia, and KonoSuba 2 are on my PTW list for Winter. Got done with the first episode of Urara this morning. Meh. Will look forward to seeing what else you pick up, though I know the selection is a little bare.

    1. I can’t remember a season that has left me this disinterested. I’m hoping that some of the stuff that hasn’t come out yet is okay but that hope is getting smaller.

  12. I never watch new stuff as it comes out. πŸ˜› For now I am content with Yuri!!! on Ice. After I think I will give Flip Flappers a chance. Had a few people recommend it to me. πŸ™‚
