Travel Announcement

One Punch Man Saitama Flying

This is going to be a super quick post and mostly is just an announcement that in two weeks I am going to be heading off to Tokyo!

As you can guess, I’m super excited about this.

Now mostly I’m getting to go to Japan because someone I know has been over there the last few months for work and I’m visiting (not that it would take much to convince me to go to Japan). As a result I’ll pretty much be staying in Tokyo for the couple of weeks I am there other than the occasional day trip elsewhere.

Still, I absolutely love Tokyo and I’m really determined to spend some time exploring it this visit and maybe visit some of the less touristy places when I’ve got the time to wander about.

What does it mean for the blog?

Well, I don’t really know. With the Winter season ending right before I leave I don’t know if I’ll start reviewing the Spring anime until I get back (unless the internet connection I end up with over there is better than I’m expecting in which case business as usual).

I’ll have some prepared posts that will go out but given how behind I’ve been in my normal posting, unlike previous trips away, I haven’t prepared daily posts in my absence.

I am hoping to update with some very cool photos of my trip while I’m away. Though that will depend on the internet again.

That said, I’m not letting it stress me. I’m really going to have fun on this trip and if I can’t maintain reviews while I’m away then I will catch up when I get back. Hopefully readers will understand and hopefully I’ll still be able to read blogs and post updates.

So that’s all from me and I’ve got two weeks to brush up on some basic Japanese, pack my bags, and then I’m off.

By the way, did I mention I’m super excited?!!!! (Yes, multiple exclamation points excited.)

Thank-you for reading 100 Word Anime.

  1. Oh my god!!!!! Please take me with you! Just you know, stop here in Portugal for a coffee and I’ll get inside of your luggage! What do you think?

  2. Have a safe and fun trip! If only I got my passport on time, I’d be in Tokyo around that time, too, bc my father’s going on a travel trip with some relative. ><

  3. Omg how exciting!!! I hope you have a blast in Tokyo. It’s a beautiful city with so much to see and do! I’m excited to see some photos and hear about your trip 😄 Have a good and safe trip!

    1. Thanks Leth. I can more or less guarantee food photos. I got that down to an art last time I visited Japan because everything just looks so amazing when they serve it.

  4. I’m so excited for you! I was kind of planning to go this year but they fell through so probably after the 2020 Olympics. Enjoy it and looking forward to your pictures:)

    1. Thank you. Hopefully I get some nice pictures. I remember it was actually kind of hard getting clear photos because there are so many people in Tokyo last time I was there.

  5. I hope you have phone on your trip I’m sure you will have figure out your own posting schedule because you are super savvy at that 🙂

    1. Normally yes. However, the last few months have been a little (well a lot) not great in real life so I’ve pretty much run out of prewritten material. My plan when I get back from Japan is to get things super organised again, but for now I’m just kind of letting the next month happen as it will.

  6. Have fun!!
I’m not going to miss you. Totally…
    No, I will miss you.
Since you are going to Tokyo, does that mean you are going to Akiba(hara)?
I have always wanted to go to Japan. Even before I was an anime fan. It’s so pretty!! And Nintendo is there! And Playsta— Whoops, better not say too much.

    1. Thanks. I’ve been saving and hoping to come across some Natsume collectables. Last time I was in Japan, a number of years ago now, I found Natsume and Reiko figurines at a second hand store and a Nyanko phone strap. Really looking forward to seeing what I can find this time.

    1. I really hope so. I’ve been finding a few places I definitely have to visit but I want to kind of keep myself open just to explore.

  7. Have fun on your trip.

My own trip to Japan is 1 – 2 weeks out from yours, I heard from Astral (yesterday) that he was headed to Japan in May, I seem to remember Zel had a trip lined up around the same time as mine and Dale’s going/on exchange there, so I’m wondering if this will mean a lull in anime content all around…

    1. I hope not but I also hope everyone has fun on their travels. I am still hoping to keep the blog and posts going but I need to suss out the internet situation where I’m staying before I’ll know what I can do.
