Tanaka-kun is absolutely committed to a sedentary lifestyle and is overwhelmed with obstacles such as school, eating, friendships and just moving on a daily basis. His mission is to avoid anything that may require energy.
Tanaka-kun embodies laziness but this episode sees him as his most active yet. After causing papers to be crumpled (oh no) he is enlisted to assist in reprinting. All of which is the set up for introducing our hopeless girl of the week who has a hidden dilemma who can somehow be saved by Tanaka’s overall apathy. I hate the way female characters have been constructed so far in this show and yet, borrowing from Tanaka, it just doesn’t seem worth my energy to worry about it. The running gag is Tanaka is lazy and this episode doesn’t move beyond.
Sorry for the abrupt ending but I finally reviewed something in exactly 100 words.
