While individually both the hero and the goddess aren't exactly great, when played against one another, Cautious Hero manages to actually be kind of funny and honestly I'm enjoying this different approaching to 'heroing' so far. While not great by any means, this one is probably a keeper for the season.
At last Arifureta the anime comes to an end with the addition of one more harem member and a ride toward whatever adventure these characters have next. And apparently we're going to see that in anime form despite the many issues this season has had. There's no justice from the gods of sequels.
Rush, rush, rush. Finishing the guild mission, acquiring Tio, and straight into saving Myu before we jump to the heroes' party getting their butts kicked in the dungeon. Oh look, another isekai. Right after finishing the wrestling one I move onto this. And we get another gimmick; in this case the hero might be fairly strong starting out but he's also almost pathologically cautious. Will the useless goddess convince him to be a hero or is this world doomed?
Arifureta continues to plough through its source content bringing us the third member of Hajime's harem and a monster army march on a village in the space of two episodes. Admittedly, these two episodes are probably among the more interesting and least flawed of the series so far, but that wasn't a high bar to reach.

We're racing through another labyrinth and skipping over anything that might count as development for our characters. Shea shines the brightest in this episode but the competition is way to thin to really count that as a success for the overpowered bunny-girl.
While it isn't quite the butchered introduction that the first act was, Shea and the rabbitmen have their story condensed to nearly dot-point form. While there's nothing particularly glaringly bad about it, this is perhaps the least engaging way to convey this narrative.
Grudgingly I'll admit this episode of Arifureta isn't quite the dumpster fire some of the previous episodes have been. While that doesn't quite get this series to being good, it at least shows that there are some steps in the direction of maybe getting to kind of watchable. It might be too little too late given we're at episode 5, but this episode paves the way for a future journey and has some nice moments.
