The Ones Within Anime Series Review

The Ones Within or Nakanohito Genome [Jikkyouchuu] is one of those anime that is better experienced than described. While it is certainly a flaw riddled viewing experience, not the least because it is incomplete, there's still plenty of reasons to give this one a shot. Particularly if you are in the mood for something a bit strange.

The Ones Within Review Episodes 10 – 12

We resolve the issue of the lost companion and then have two final games, but as the anime ends with the story incomplete and it seems unlikely we'll get another season, it all feels just a little bit pointless. Unless you happen to like the child forms of the characters and the various flowers sprouting on their heads in episode 11.

The Ones Within Review Episode 8

I'm kind of feeling like The One's Within has taken its first major dive in narrative quality. While the show has always been a little on the weird side, this episode was the first that actually bored me. Admittedly, I was pretty brain dead going into the episode from work related exhaustion but I don't know that I've felt so indifferent about an episode of any anime this season as I did about this one.

The Ones Within Review Episode 7

This week The Ones Within brings us an incredibly dangerous game but equally it makes us wonder whether or not the sense of danger is ever going to be more than just a lurking sensation. While I'm not advocating for wholesale slaughter, I am wondering how many near misses we can have before tension evaporates entirely?

The One’s Within Review Episode 6

Some down time for Iride is nice as this week's game focuses on Anya and Himiko and they navigate a dungeon they can't lie in. There's plenty of potential intrigue as we learn more about the cast and their individual quirks. I just really hope this is all going somewhere.

The One’s Within Review Episode 5

Multiple character back-stories, the llama headed guy intervenes in the game, and intrigue galore this week in The One's Within. It is starting to kind of feel like this is building toward something rather than just being random for the sake of it and I hope that is true because if it pulls off a decent end game this series could actually be a nice quiet achiever for the season.

The One’s Within Review Episode 4

The One's Within presents a challenge for a reviewer given its particular quirky tone is best experienced first hand rather than described in text. Honestly, this anime shouldn't work and yet I find myself fascinated by it.

The One’s Within Review Episode 3

Stalker Girl Saves The Day Nakanohito Genome [Jikkyouchuu] Episode 3 Rare that the stalker girl turns out to actually be the most useful and yet here we have a girl who is clearly a long way gone in terms of being possessive who manages to save the day this week in The One’s Within. I’m … Continue reading The One’s Within Review Episode 3

The One’s Within Review Episode 2

Mashing Genres For No Apparent Purpose Nakanohito Genome [Jikkyouchuu] Episode 2 While episode 2 of The One’s Within doesn’t really get us any closer to knowing the who, what or why of the situation, I do like that at least some of the players are open to testing how the mechanics of the game they … Continue reading The One’s Within Review Episode 2
