Summer 2018 Week 8

Week 8 seemed to bring a theme of protagonists in chains (or maybe that was just Banana Fish and Attack on Titan) but there was definitely drama to be had this week while watching anime. That said, with a number of shows really hitting their stride, the weaker shows this season are looking very week with Holmes of Kyoto hitting its most dull point yet and even Angolmois starting to crumble under the weight of just too many issues with it overall execution.

Summer 2018 Week 7

The half-way point and there are still a few shows I'm on the fence about but I'm pretty happy with my line up. At the very least I've got a little something from quite a number of genres which means at least my week is nice and variable as I go from action to romance to drama to comedy.

Summer 2018 Week 6

The half-way point and there are still a few shows I'm on the fence about but I'm pretty happy with my line up. At the very least I've got a little something from quite a number of genres which means at least my week is nice and variable as I go from action to romance to drama to comedy.

Summer 2018 Week 5

Week 5 has come to an end and I've had another a few drops from my watch list. Normally I'd be sad by such a short line up, but I actually kind of wanted a lighter season and it is giving me time to try some projects I've had in mind for awhile, such as my Yuri on Ice rewatch.

Summer 2018 Week 4

What I'm still watching, while not really brilliant on the whole, are mostly enjoyable. Probably the only other show super in danger of being cut is GeGeGe no Kitaro and that is because its had quite the slump for a number of weeks. Otherwise, I'm fairly sure I'm sticking with the current line up. Though Lord of Vermilion and Holmes of Kyoto may not last the whole season.

Angels of Death Episode 4: This Is The End

That minor nagging voice from last week telling me this might get better has now been dragged out and beaten to death by common sense. Angels of Death is boring which is the most irredeemable thing something made for entertainment can ever be. I love psychological horror. I love bad horror. Cheesy dialogue. Cliche set … Continue reading Angels of Death Episode 4: This Is The End

Summer 2018 Week 3

We've reached week 3 and technically that means I should have an actual watch list sorted but to be honest I think this season I'm going to be pretty fluid in picking up stuff and dropping it. Carrying over from the Spring season I will be reviewing My Hero Academia as part of my collaboration … Continue reading Summer 2018 Week 3

Angels of Death Episode 3: Surrender to Game Style Dialogue and Repetition

Episode 3 continues with the mediocrity and makes it clear that no one really thought through how this would play out as an anime. I'd like to say I was done with this, but there's this minor nagging voice in my head telling me it might get better. There's not much positive to say about … Continue reading Angels of Death Episode 3: Surrender to Game Style Dialogue and Repetition

Summer 2018 Week 2

Week two and I hate to say it but Summer is looking to be a bit of a slow season. While there's plenty here that might end up being fun enough to watch, there are very few if any shows I'm going to recommend any time soon. There's just so many other great anime titles … Continue reading Summer 2018 Week 2

Angels of Death Episode 2: When It Feels Like You Are Watching A Play Through Rather Than An Anime

While the first episode of Angels of Death was intriguing in its atmosphere, episode 2 kind of just walks us through a level with mediocre results. Continuing on directly from the end of episode 1, episode 2 ends with Zack refusing to kill Rachel because of the bored look on her face but promises to … Continue reading Angels of Death Episode 2: When It Feels Like You Are Watching A Play Through Rather Than An Anime
