I get the distinct impression that Isekai Cheat Magician is what happens when someone who has only read one genre believes they've got an amazingly revolutionary idea - not one but two characters end up in the other world. Only then they don't know what to actually do with them and so the end result ends up somewhat less than satisfying.
When the title actually claims he's a cheat magician I guess we had to expect a sudden power-up in the midst of battle to save the day. And so Isekai Cheat Magician comes to an unremarkable end.
Unbelievably silly statements abound in the latest two episodes of Isekai Cheat Magician. Characters stating the obvious, making ridiculous declarations, and then, just for fun, zombies.
War came, army marched, war over. I'm pretty sure they will throw something a bit more threatening at Taichi and Rin before the end of the season but this episode was just a little pathetic.
Well, if you were hanging out to find out who summoned Taichi to the fantasy world, episode 8 brings you an answer. It doesn't do a whole lot else other than an entire scene change and all new characters... I wonder if we'll get a chance to actually know these characters before war break out?
Isekai Cheat Magician tries for a poignant moment this episode and due to the lack of a solid emotional foundation it came off more comical than it probably intended. Still, Taichi vs the two headed dragon was at least a momentary distraction from the mediocrity of this series.
Welcome to the battle of Taichi underground and the Rin is Awesome show above. The battle for the city is underway and you have to wonder what the adventurers would have done if Taichi and Rin hadn't been there.
Taichi wakes up after the battle in the last episode to find an entire week has passed. Isekai Cheat Magician rolls up its sleeves and delivers a fairly average to below average episode in almost every respect. It would be difficult to try to refute those who've been calling this anime boring after this episode that literally just painted by numbers.
Just because you are cheating doesn't mean you will necessarily win - being the protagonist on the other hand probably does guarantee success. Isekai Cheat Magician dials up the action this episode and puts Rin, Taichi and Myura up against a decently challenging foe. Looking forward to where this goes next.
Is it being a magician when you use magic to hit things really hard? Isekai Cheat Magician seems to think so and delivers some relatively easy going viewing.
