I am super excited by the support that readers have given during the first week of April. I set a target of $200 for the April Sponsor Drive and by April 8 had reached $160. This is going to help pay for the blog’s existence and URL and I am very grateful for the help. If you want the longer explanation of why I’ve decided to try a sponsor drive rather than going back to patreon, check out the original post here.
For those who are still wanting to help out there are 3 ways you can support the blog this April:
- Paypal donation – Simply set how much you want to donate and go, no strings attached but I will link to you as a sponsor.
- Sponsor a post – For $5 you can pick a post that already exists on the blog to sponsor. Your sponsor badge (with link) will be attached to the post and it will be reposted to further increase visibility. With over 4000 posts on the blog, there’s plenty to choose from and in the original sponsor post I listed some of my most visited posts to help people choose.
- Sponsor seasonal content – For $10 you can pick a series airing in Spring or Summer to sponsor and all episode reviews will feature your sponsor badge, as will the full series review and one feature article written inspired by the series.
For options 2 and 3 it is recommended you contact me first to discuss. I’d also suggest at this point my spring viewing season is pretty full so picking an anime airing in Summer 2021 might be the best option if you want to sponsor seasonal content. More details below.
A couple of FAQs:
Can you sponsor multiple posts? Absolutely. Option 2 allows you to make multiple purchases simultaneously and in the description does offer a fourth post free when you choose to sponsor 3.
Can you pay more than $5/$10 for the options? Yes, but you will need to contact me to explain what you are doing. You’ll actually need to use the general paypal donate button in order to set the amount you wish to pay.
What information do you need? For me to make your sponsor badge I’ll need an image file, a brief description of you, and the link you want displayed and linked to. This will be displayed on my about page and at the top of any posts you have sponsored. If you can message this information to me when you pay, I can get your badge made and up on the blog more or less the same day. Examples below.
Do you need to have a badge? Nope. You can choose to remain anonymous or not linked to on the blog. I am happy for you to change your mind later and request a badge as well if you have sponsored.
Do I have to sponsor in April? The option to donate to paypal or buy a ko-fi is always open and the links are in my signature at the bottom of each post. The sponsoring a post or seasonal content is an April option and I will run it again in September for the Autumn/Winter seasons. I do understand that many of my readers aren’t in a position at the moment to support the blog with the many economic concerns caused by COVID and other world events.
Become a Sponsor
Choose any existing post on the blog to sponsor. At the top of your chosen post a badge will be added (example one pictured) with your chosen avatar, acknowledgement that you have sponsored that post, a brief description of the content you create and will link back to your blog, channel, product or whichever site you choose. Also – if you choose to sponsor 3 posts you will be able to choose a fourth post for free.
Seasonal Content – Summer Only
Contact me to discuss. You choose an upcoming series (12 episode cap) from the Spring or Summer 2021 line-up to be covered in episode reviews on the blog. In addition, during the airing season a feature post will be written, and after the series concludes a full series review will be written. At the top of all posts for the chosen series your badge will be featured (example one pictured) with your chosen avatar, acknowledgement that you have sponsored the content, a brief description of the content you create and will link back to your blog, channel, product or whichever site you choose.
Spring is pretty much full at this point so I would suggest a Summer anime from 2021. Either way, contact me to discuss prior to choosing this option.
A huge thank you to Crow, Lynn, Ashley, BAYOG, David and others (chosen at this point not to be listed) for sponsoring 100WordAnime this year.
