Seven Months and Almost At The End of 2016

Here we are at the start of December and when I started blogging back in May I don’t know that I expected to still be going by now or to be enjoying it anywhere near as much as I have, but here we are. November was another fantastic month watching anime (and the many thousands of Yuri on Ice themed tweets over on twitter).  All and all though, I continued to enjoy sharing my love of anime and meeting others who similarly enjoy it.

No major changes planned for the blog as I’m kind of happy with how things are going so I’ll continue my weekly overviews of the season, my In Case You Missed It posts, my Top 5’s, and my Features (for as long as I can think of topics) and I’ll continue to try to do a whole series review every three days or so.

At the eighth month mark (yes, New Year’s), I’m planning on releasing my best and worst anime for the year lists but I’d also like to know what my readers think and so, here is a poll and I’d love if you’d take a minute to think about what the best anime for this year was (and yes, I know I don’t have every single anime in the list – sorry if I left off your favourite). Also, I know most people have a life and probably won’t visit my blog on New Year’s so please come back and check the final list out sometime after New Year’s and let me know what you think of the results.

By the way, if you could share this so more people vote I’d greatly appreciate it. Let’s go to eight months and beyond.

  1. Congrats on the 7 months of blogging!

Noticed a few shows I felt should be on the list not present along with a few I’m surprised to see even considered for best of 2016, but working with what’s there I chose Izetta.

  2. Seven months, right on! I voted Flying Witch and ReLIFE thought my top 3 shows this year are Konosuba, Love Live Sunshine and High School Fleet. Damn good time with anime I’ve had this year.

  3. Time passed us by, huh. I started blogging around March-April, and comparing my current posts with my earlier ones, I can proudly say I improved albeit a little — same goes to everyone of us! Here’s me hoping for another great year of anime and blogging: CHEERS!

PS. Thank you really for reading my posts. If I recall correctly, you were one of the firsts to entertain my posts (as well as others’), something you do consistently and regularly. Thank you again, and good luck with work too!

  4. Congrats on another milestone; your consistency is really something to be admired. I’ll be interested to see the outcome of the poll. Though I may have allegedly voted for Flip Flappers, my vote spiritually goes to Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu, at least until the end of this season proves me wrong (and I almost hope it does).

    1. Thanks for the support and thanks for voting.
I hope Shouwa Genroku Rakugo Shinjuu finishes well. I kind of liked the first episodes but it just wasn’t my kind of anime in the end.

  5. Ooh May? I started in February/near May if I remember right hehe!
7 months means you’ve cleared the first half year as the most probably chances of you quitting, so now it’ll be smooth sailing woo!
Yuri in ice has consumed us, bless 👌😻✨
Your output is crazy, please teach me your ways sensei! ლ(́◉◞౪◟◉‵ლ)

    1. Let’s hope it is smooth sailing from here on. The only thing that keeps me on track is scheduling everything and making sure I account for when I’m going to be crazy busy at work and plan around that (that’s kind of why I don’t review anything the day it is out, it gives me a 2 – 3 day buffer to catch up if something goes wrong in the schedule).

      1. You’ve been doing really great so far, you’re very inspiring Karandi! 👌✨
Scheduling is the God’s gift to bloggers tbh, I don’t know what I’d do or be without being able to schedule 😅 (tho in my case it’s because I’m either extremely lazy and write nothing for weeks, or I dish out a bunch of posts when inspired haha)
You’re really quick from my point of view, so you’re doing stellar 😻

  6. Congratulations on the seventh month milestone. I couldn’t vote because I haven’t seen a single one of those titles, sorry. (I have so much to catch up on oh boy).

As for your blog, it’s hard to believe that you’ve been at it for just 7 months because of the sheer mount and variety of content. I love your weekly features and your reviews are always entertaining. I hope you keep it up for a long, long time.

    1. Thanks a lot.
Hopefully you get a chance to check out some of the better titles from this year at some point (I wouldn’t inflict Taboo Tattoo on anyone, or Big Order for that matter).

  7. Congrats!! Coming up on my 6 months, it feels so weird!! I love reading your posts, and i look forwards to many more!! Goals to make you “in case you missed it” lists \*_*/

  8. I for one really really love your blog! I can’t believe you’ve only been doing it for 8 months. I personally have had mine for a few years, but never really got into it till maybe September? Then I started to get really active again. Thanks for creating such great content! I cant wait to see how your blog progresses!

    1. Thanks a lot. It really has been great becoming a part of the online anime community. I’ve met so many really supportive people and I just love getting to discuss my favourite topic on a daily basis.

  9. There were so many anime on your poll I hadn’t seen, I almost felt bad for choosing the series I did. Seeing as a few aren’t finished and I can’t be certain (and I want to vote now), I went with one I really enjoyed but wasn’t exactly stellar: Tanaka-kun is Always Listless.

I always kinda chuckle when people are celebrating their blogs being up for not even a year. Sometimes it feels like mine hasn’t even been up for a year (because I didn’t take it seriously until about September of last year), even though I started it in late 2013. Congratulations on keeping the streak going. The quantity of your posts each week is astounding and the amount of followers you’ve received is apparent of your quality. Merry almost Christmas!

    1. Thanks for voting and for the kind words.
I know it shouldn’t still feel like an achievement that the blog is still going but it does. Maybe I’m just addicted to milestones after too many years of gaming.

  10. Crazy, how fast time goes right? I am nearing the six month mark on my own blog, almost can’t believe it. A very impressive list you have put together. I voted for Erased. One Anime that is not in the list (but I already knew that: is Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress). As for your blog: it is great indeed. I hope it will continue the way it is for a long time to come, as I am really enjoying it every day.
I will definitely check out the list: I do have a life, but I will probably check in on New Years Day anyway 😂😂 Good luck in the future, and continue with everything you are doing: it is awesome 😀

    1. Thanks so much for your continued support. I nearly did add Kabaneri to the list given it is the reader’s poll and not mine but as I haven’t seen even a little of it (other than screen caps) I left it off. I did include other titles that I really, really hope no one votes for.

      1. Really no problem: and the good thing is: you have something to look forward to 😉 what I’m looking forward to is the results of the poll, and ofcourse the post that will go along with it 😀 And as I said, even though I will be busy as well on New Years Day, I will definitely check out posts! (Yes, I admit I have become addicted lol 😂)

  11. Happy KURO!!! YAY!

Also, happy…seven months (or slightly half a year doing this)-versary…(?). Wow, I stomped on that. Anyway, good luck to whatever you come up in the future.

    1. I know. I stopped actually celebrating each month a while ago but I like the reflection at the beginning of each month. Pure chance my first post was on the 1st but I kind of like it now.

    1. Sorry about the 2 Mob Psycho’s. Should be fixed now. Not sure why it wouldn’t register voting but it is the first poll I set up so it might be a little buggy. Sorry.
