Nominated for the Blogger Recognition Award

Yes, I know I leave too long between being nominated and responding to these things.

I want to thank all of the following for nominating me:

I may have missed someone so apologies. I really am thankful for the nomination and I am happy that my blog is being read and enjoyed.

The Rules

Thank whoever nominated you and provide a link to their blog

Give a brief story of how your blog started

Give two pieces of advice for new bloggers

Select up to 15 other blogs you want to give the award to (Sorry, but I’m passing on this for the time being)

How I Started

Pretty sure I covered this in a previous post but essentially I was looking to talk to people about anime and wasn’t really finding the discussion boards or groups on Crunchyroll particularly inviting. A friend of mine suggested I write a blog because they knew I hadn’t been writing much recently and they thought it would get me typing again. Two birds, one stone, and 100 Word Anime was born. The word limit was imposed to encourage me to write. I knew I could write 100 words on any anime episode so there would no excuse not to write. Now of course the problem is keeping episode posts short because I usually go way over. Mostly though the blog wouldn’t still be here now if it wasn’t for the people I met through blogging. I love reading the posts of others, people following the same shows, people following different shows, and I love reading all the different opinions and talking with people about anime. That’s pretty much why this blog still exists.

Two Pieces of Advice

Don’t listen to me for advice?

Um, everybody already stole the advice about interact and be part of the community. This is hard.

Okay. Number 1 – Express an opinion. The posts I most enjoy reading on other blogs are ones that express and support a point of view. It’s all well and good to recap the events but how did you feel about it or what are you thinking? That’s what makes the post interesting and uniquely yours.

Number 2 – Have fun. For me, blogging is not my job it is something I do to wind down from my job and to further my hobby of watching anime. Therefore if I’m not having fun I have to wonder why I would still be doing it. I love that my first thought after watching an episode or a series is instantly how am I going to write about this. I love that my next thought is I wonder what everyone else thought. I think having fun with your blog and with your hobby is really important.

Right, so I passed on passing the award on, not to be a pain but just because I’ve done a few of these recently and while I can think of 15 bloggers I’d love to recognise they’ve either been recognised or I gave them a different award recently. Thanks again to everyone who nominated me and I hope you all keep reading my blog.

  2. Congratulations on the award!

You gave some really good advice. Thanks for that.

Here’s to hoping that you keep on blogging for a long time!

  3. Congrats on another award (or a better term would be awards 😂😂) They are all very well deserved and I completely agree with your pieces of advice. I love interacting with people and expressing opinions on a certain series. In fact it’s the thing I have been enjoying the most since starting on blogging. Keep having fun, but from reading all your posts, I know that is what you are still doing 😀

  4. Congrats on the award!

That’s some pretty solid advice that I definitely agree with.

You should never be afraid to express how you truly feel about something, even if you know people might not agree with you. I believe that expression is one of the best ways to make a post truly yours and yours alone.

And of course, having fun is the most important part of blogging for me. I do this because I enjoy it, and it’s fun to write about the things I enjoy. I love that I now watch a series and that I can think of ways to express my enjoyment on my blog as I watch it. It’s a really fun thing to do.

    1. I have found that I enjoy watching things more now knowing that after watching I can talk about it and read the opinions of others and discuss what I’ve watched. It really adds to the viewing experience.

  5. Congratulations!
And thank you for the advice – both are pretty good points but tend to be overlooked at times.

I hope you keep blogging for a long time.
