My Hero Academia Episode 1

Overview:

Mankind has developed superpowers known as ‘Quirks’ and because of this crime is on the rise and heroes have emerged. Izuku Midoriya wants to be a hero but has no quirk.

Review:

It’s taken me awhile to get to this anime because with the occasional exception, I’m just not that in to hero stories. After reading many positive reviews I decided to give it a god and I’m glad I did, at least after episode 1. It’s charming and funny and also just a little bit crazy. Our protagonist is weak but not pathetic and he’s also not just endlessly cheery. I’m interested in where this will go so will watch a bit more now. Definitely one of the stronger contenders this season.

My Hero Academia is available on AnimeLab.

  1. Yes, this one is (maybe) my favourite this season! I wasn’t going to watch it but I didn’t want to watch sakamoto desu ga so I’m happy I picked this up!

  2. I didn’t like episode 1 as much as the others, really tempted me to drop the whole series. But I have to say I’m glad I didn’t drop it.

    1. I think if this had come out in a different season, I may not have kept watching. That said, it is turning out to be quite enjoyable.

  3. It definitely took me awhile to get around to it, but with the number of other series I am dropping this season it seemed like a good time to pick something else up.

  4. I’ve heard so much about this anime, but yet still have to get around and actually watching it xDD. Trying out concreate revo s1 at the moment xDD.

I'd love to know what you think.
