A reminder, that if you would like to be involved, just answer the very simple survey here and I’ll consider your question for inclusion in this series of posts. You don’t have to answer the second question but if you leave your name and link I will link to your blog when I respond.
Question: What would you describe as an ideal anime? From Rahul.
I hate to say it, but I genuinely don’t think there is an ideal when it comes to anime. While there are anime I enjoy and anime that I think are very well done, what I like is the variety so asking for all of them to match up against an ideal would defeat the purpose.
I will say that there are some things that ideally wouldn’t appear in an anime. Such as unnecessary fan-service (different from fan-service that is actually plot or theme related), gags that serve no purpose or are repetitive, unused plot points, or just shallow and trope like characters that don’t develop beyond that point, but that’s about it for ideals when it comes to watching a show.
My only real ideal is that I am entertained. Whether that is because the show is fun, thought provoking, exciting, dramatic, or sweet, I don’t really mind.
Thanks for the question. Over to the readers. Do you have an ideal anime?
Thanks for reading.
