So, I’m back from my travels (shared some photos yesterday), and now comes the catch up. While I have tried to keep up on my phone, it is really hard to read posts and to write comments on it so I haven’t got to everyone recently and I’ve been liking more than commenting just because it has been easier. That said, I’m back and hopefully going to get right back into routine.
This one is going to be a short In Case You Missed It because I’ve obviously missed a lot, but I still want to highlight some posts I’ve come across recently and as always feel free to give a shout out to an anime related post (or games or movie related posts) that you feel deserves some extra attention.
Just as an added note, I will be releasing the results of the best of and worst of Spring poll that I ran during this week, so keep an eye out for that.
Shameless self-promotion: As you all know I started a patreon site for my blog and am looking for patrons to support the expansion of 100 Word Anime. Thanks to those followers who have chosen to support the blog. End shameless self-promotion.
From Humble Ace there’s a great post about Tales from the Borderlands that they keep spoiler free but really sell why you should give the game a go. I will admit, I’ve yet to play, but posts like this make me curious about it and I’ve been thinking for awhile I should give it a go.
Merlin’s Musings has an interesting discussion piece on Doctor Who and whether the new female doctor is going to be a deal breaker for some viewers. I found this an interesting read given I fell out of love with Doctor Who after David Tennant left despite having been in love with the Doctor for almost my whole life having watched reruns of older doctors growing up and then being blow away by Christopher Eccleston and David Tennants take on the character.
Madreceiver from Dad Watches Anime shares their thoughts on Akashic Records of a Bastard Magical Instructor. They were a little underwhelmed by the series and I kind of enjoyed reading this post given my own thoughts on the series.
Lesley’s Anime and Manga Corner shared a list of their favourite anime dogs. There’s some great canines on this list so check it out.
The Game of Nerds shares 10 Truly Horrifying Japanese Urban Legends. While I had encountered most of these before, it is a great list to check out particularly if you are fond of Japanese horror as it regularly draws upon some of these ideas to fill its stories.
Anime Prince looks at Tsuki ga Kirei’s defining strength. While I’ve yet to finish the anime, I’ve really enjoyed reading the posts of people who really did enjoy watching the show. There’s been a lot of positive points raised but I liked how specific this post was in just picking one feature that really made the show for the viewer.
Kpop-Khop shares reasons why you should binge watch anime. As someone who used to only binge watch completed shows I can relate to this, and also think of a whole pile of reasons to watch currently airing shows. Anyway, its a great post to check out so give it a read.
Shoujo Thoughts posted two of these but this is the first and essentially they are challenging you to guess the anime from a one or two sentence summary. It is kind of fun and some of the summaries will definitely make you laugh. If you missed these, give it a read and have a go at guessing the anime.
Lastly from Just My 2 Cents we have the top 6 dumbest moments in anime history. Well worth a read just to remember the truly stupid things anime characters have done in the name of plot, fanservice, and poor scripting.
And that’s all from me.
Thanks for reading.
