In Case You Missed It

So May is getting close to finished and we’re almost at the end of the Spring season. As usual it has been great following along with everyone this season. So many great posts to read. Below is my round up of posts I found during the week that I found interesting. As always you are welcome to add a link if you want to give a shout out to another post.

Shameless self-promotion: As you all know I started a patreon site for my blog and am looking for patrons to support the expansion of 100 Word Anime. Thanks to my patrons who already support this site. End shameless self-promotion.

Biblionyan shares their top 10 feel good anime titles. If you are looking for something calming and relaxing to watch, this is a great list to check out.

Just a Whole Lot of Weird has a really great post about the effect of bullying on Deku from My Hero Academia. It is a fairly thoughtful post and looks closely at the relationship Midoriya has had with Bakugo since preschool. Well worth the read.

Miandro’s Side is still completing the 30 Day Anime Challenge but I loved their pick for favourite weapon, gear or armour. Their choice is a particular device that I thought was pretty amazing as well and really brought the world of the show to life so if you’re curious you should definitely go and check out the post.

Prattle offers some more blogging advice about what to do when your great anime content isn’t getting found. I really enjoy reading some of Prattle’s posts about blogging because the advice is always practical and realistic. If you haven’t checked out some of these posts you should definitely spend some time on their blog.

Remy Fool on the Lily Garden looks at the use of Abrupt Laughter in anime. It’s something you’ve probably encountered, characters suddenly getting fits of giggles for either no apparent reason or some reason but it doesn’t seem to warrant that much laughter. Great post for thinking about this feature of anime.

NEETaku from Just My 2 Cents shares the 6 Most Overpowered Moves in Anime History. While I can think of a few moves I’d like added to the list, it is difficult not to laugh at how overpowered some of these moves actually are in the context of the show they are in. Great fun to read.

Atelier Emily looks at the flower language of a silent voice. This is an incredibly detailed post and very informative. It also has a link to part 1 if you missed that post so definitely check this out. I’ve read a lot of reviews of A Silent Voice but this was a nice different kind of post about it.

Takuto’s Anime Cafe takes on Grimgar for their OWL’s post on Strength. It’s a great read through and really touching. Plus, I kind of feel Grimgar gets overlooked a lot because of its slow pacing when there’s a really great character story to be found so it was nice to see someone put it in the spotlight. If you didn’t already see this post, really worth checking out.

Not anime but sharing a list from Matt Doyle Media Dot Com and it’s their top 5 werewolf movies. Given my absolute love of bad horror movies, werewolf movies are a fairly big thing so coming across this list this week was exactly what I needed.

Also not anime, but Raistlin0903 had a great review of the Labyrinth Board Game. I did not know this was a thing but after reading this post, I definitely have to find it becauseI am a major fan of the movie.

And that’s all from me.

    1. I’d say we need more of them but then we’d suffer from the same oversaturation going on with zombie movies so I’ll settle for just enjoying the ones we get.

  1. That Grimgar piece sort of just came to me, and it was a lot of fun to write. Thank you so much for the shoutout! Oh, and I just had to share Prattle’s post after you directed me to it. The stuff’s definitely worth any blogger’s time.

    1. I really enjoyed reading that Grimgar piece. Its definitely an anime I think needs to get some more attention.
Agree, Prattle’s posts are fantastic to read and incredibly helpful.

    1. No problem. I really found your post interesting as it isn’t something I’d ever really thought about for any length of time. Now everytime a character laughs I’m going to think about it.

  3. Thank you so much for the shout out: appreciate it a lot. Also seems I missed reading a few posts that you mention here. Will be checking those out for sure. Thanks again! 😊
