Phew, another week has come and gone and I’ve found sound great anime related posts out there. Keeping this short this week because I don’t have much else to say. As always, if you’ve got a great post or know of one that deserves a shout out, feel free to add a link in the comments below.
Shameless self-promotion: As you all know I started a patreon site for my blog and am looking for patrons to support the expansion of 100 Word Anime. Thanks to my patrons who already support this site. End shameless self-promotion.
Nefarious Reviews has a look at Orange in this review. If I’m honest, I liked this review because it calls the show on some of its sillier choices so if you were after something that praised it, probably not this review. However, it is an entertaining read.
All About Anime gives a quick description of what White Day is given it regularly appears in anime and manga but many people outside of Japan (and a few other countries) don’t really know what it is. Some helpful information for those just getting started with anime.
Not anime but gaming related, Animated has a post about their experience with the Switch so far. It covers a wide range of issues from number of titles, enjoyment of the games, the controllers, socializing and gaming, and generally does a good job giving a run down of the Switch experience so far (from their point of view). I actually almost wavered and thought about console gaming again while reading this but then reminded myself I have literally no time left in my day.
Hold Up Let’t Talk has a a top 10 list of anime detectives. There’s some classics and some newer faces on the list so go have a read and remember all the great anime detectives out there.
Lethargic Ramblings looks at the Kirito Problem and the oversaturation of would be black swordsman out there in anime land. Its an intriguing thought as to whether or not this character did have prevalence before SAO and while I’m certain there were some, the point is well made that this archetype has quite literally exploded since SAO. This post was a great read.
Bookish Frenzy shared their thoughts on The Devil is a Part Timer so if you are looking for a review of that or if you just enjoy the show you should check out the post.
Archi Anime has something a bit different as they put together a dream loot crate. To be honest, even though I’m not that into sports anime, I’d probably want that crate. It looked awesome.
Little Anime Blog has a post about Madoka and its message of hope for mature audiences. It is an interesting discussion on the anime and magical girl series and definitely worth reading.
Something about games for once: CSRadical has reviewed Uncharted 1 -3. I love their reasoning for their ratings and if you still haven’t played these games but have read all the hype about them, this is probably a nice review to balance it out a bit.
Keiko’s Anime Blog does a nice job tearing apart Taboo Tattoo (mostly I’m kind of glad I’m not the only one who subjected myself to watching that rubbish). Anyway, this post pretty much outlines why you shouldn’t watch it so if you were still undecided about it you should check out the post.
And that’s all from me.
