In Case You Missed It 2019 #27

It feels like it is just going to be one of those weeks. After breaking my blog last week, this week has been a series of reminders about our short time on Earth as multiple people within my real world community or connected to the community passed away. It has not been great. Then throw in a stomach bug and by Thursday I was feeling mighty sorry for myself. Which led to me deciding to make a new blog banner. Isn’t it cute?

Of course that made me realise that the rest of my blog’s appearance was in need of an upgrade and so I’ve begun. There’s still work to be done but I’m pretty happy with how it is looking at the moment. Of course I greatly appreciate the feedback people have given me through twitter and the like about what is working and not working about the blog’s appearance.

In seriousness though I’ve been incredibly grateful for the distractions online this week as they’ve managed to keep me from getting into too deep of a funk with everything that is happening. So thank you ani-blogging community for being awesome and keep up the good work.

Hopefully you find something fun to read and as always if you have a post you’d like to give a shout out to send me a message via my contact or on Twitter.

Ty-Chama has a very nice post about Fruits Basket episode 17 and the importance of mentors. This episode reduced me to tears and I know I wasn’t alone in that. Check out this post to relive the feels brought on by the episode.

Roger Pocock has a review of Golden Time which is an anime that I kind of feel probably needs a little more attention every now and then. It is an interesting romantic/comedy/drama and has some interesting ideas. With two cours and a solid ending, it is an anime I quite enjoy binge watching from time to time.

Matt in the Hat reviews Trigun, a classic that should not be forgotten. Admittedly, like many of us, he apparently didn’t fall instantly in love with Trigun as its charm is the kind that takes awhile to grow on viewers. If you want to know if Trigun is worth watching be sure to check out this review.

Lynn Sheridan talks about DanMachi season 2 episode 3 and the developments leading to the war game. If you want to know what Lynn liked, didn’t like and which characters he’s enjoying, then be sure to check out this episode review.

7mononoke has a great review of Attack on Titan season 3 over on Anime Rants. It looks at each element of the anime, visuals, story, music etc before bringing it together for their final thoughts. If you want to know why season 3 of Attack on Titan got so may of us back on board with the story, this review will probably help clarify.

I Watched An Anime is talking about Tsukigakirei. Quite clearly they had a better time with it than I did and their focus is very much on the portrayal of the relationship at the core of the anime. Admittedly, that means there are spoilers here for those concerned with that kind of thing. However, if you are curious about the anime and don’t mind knowing the outcome, this post is very nicely written.

Raistlin has a post this week on ‘fandom’ and some of the negativity that certain parts of the community seem to thrive on. As usual Raistlin has written in a way that invites conversation and the conversation is certainly going on in the comments so be sure to check out the post and the comments and add your thoughts.

Pick of the Week

Fan of a Certain Age has a list of Five Things They Wished Online Fans Knew. It certainly turns a close eye on the current state of fandom and many of the issues people come across and how they can optimise their fan experience. Definitely a post for fans to read and reflect upon.

    1. Thanks Raistlin. I am a little sad and reflective at the moment but fine. The feeling around town is a little more sombre than normal which is a little bit suffocating but understandable. But, things will hopefully get better and in the meantime I have found plenty to keep myself busy.

      1. Well it’s good to hear that you have enough to keep you busy at least. Sorry to hear you are sad though. I hope the feeling will pass soon. In the meantime please take care, and I really consider you a good friend, so if there is anything I can do: let me know😊

I'd love to know what you think.
