Wow, where did the Spring Anime season go? It has just flown by so quick. On that note, next weekend I’ll be setting up and starting the poll for the best of the season so start thinking through what you are going to vote for this time round. However, for now, be sure to check out some of the posts I came across this week.

STARfisher has an interesting post on the first season of Code Geass. it is one of those anime that a lot of people love but then there are lots of people that it doesn’t quite grab. STARfisher looks at some of the issues with the writing that kept them from falling in love with the series and it a fun post to read breaking down some of the potential problems with the story.
David has a look at the escapist appeal of The Helpful Fox Senko-san in this fun post that describes the circumstances in the anime and how relaxing they find it to watch. I’m going to honestly say I didn’t get very far into the anime because it didn’t really appeal to me but this was a great post to read to see why someone else was enjoying it. If you haven’t checked out the anime be sure to give the post a read.
Ty-chama has a fun episode review of Fruits Basket episode 9. I really enjoyed this episode with its nice mix of lighter comedic moments that hit the spot as well as its warm emotional ending and this was a really fun post to read as it covered a range of ideas that came up in the episode. If you are watching Fruits Basket this season check out this episode review.
Irina had a wonderful character piece this week on Kyouya from Ouran High School Host Club so if you missed it be sure to hop on over to her blog and check it out. Kyouya is an interesting character and there’s plenty to look at particularly regarding his family situation and his motives and Irina certainly has stepped back and taken a good look at this character.
Otaku Central takes on Zankyou no Terror (Terror in Resonance) and whether it is worth watching. I really enjoyed reading their take on this anime as it is one I found to be interesting watching. If you’ve yet to watch the anime and are curious as to what it is about this is a nice spoiler free post to check out.
Rocco B over on Secluded Observation wrote their own post offering advice for new bloggers linking back to my inquiring minds post last week. It is great advice from someone who has been blogging a fair bit longer than I have and worth checking out for new bloggers and bloggers who are still learning new things (which would be most of us).
Pick of the Week
Data Error has a fantastic post on Run With The Wind and the source of conflict within the story. Okay, I just love Run With The Wind but this post really does the anime justice in looking at why it works so well and has such a wide appeal to viewers who give it the time. The post begins with an overview of the focus of sports anime in general before narrowing its focus to what Run With The Wind accomplished and it is a pleasure to read from start to finish and definitely worth the time.
While we’re at it, Jessi had a great review of Run With The Wind as well so be sure to check that post out also.
