In Case You Missed It 2019 #18

Another massive week in anime and another massive week for bloggers with so many fun posts coming out to read. I’m still thinking through the whole 24 hours worth of Evangelion posts and once I figure out what exactly I’m doing I’ll write a post about it and those who wish to be involved can give drop me a comment then. In the meantime check out some of the great posts this week from the community.

And if you missed it, be sure to check out the discussion Scott and I had regarding Attack on Titan (part one here, part two here). We had a lot of fun writing it and doing some mad speculation about the future of the characters. Be nice though and don’t spoil it for us, we’re both looking forward to being surprised.

Hopefully you find something fun to read and as always if you have a post you’d like to give a shout out to send me a message via my contact or on Twitter.

Fan Of A Certain Age shares a discussion about their love of side-lined and background characters. This one gets quite personal looking at the absence of lead characters that they can relate to as well as looking at trends in fan-fiction. It’s an interesting read so if you missed it be sure to check it out. And while you are there check out the great post they wrote asking “is there hope for BL“.

Ayano shares ten anime worlds they’d like to restart/be reborn into and there are some great picks on this list particularly if you like cute or sparkly. Be sure to check out this fun anime list and leave a comment with the worlds you’d love to be in.

Richard Wood summarises and discusses episode 8 of Demon Slayer. Yes there are spoilers here given it does recount the events of the episode but it also looks at Nezuko’s role within the story and how he currently feels about the villain. If you are watching Demon Slayer and missed this episode review it is an interesting read.

Merlin’s Musings looks at 5 anime voice actors (English dubs) and their many roles. There’s some great names on the list and some nice videos and clips to watch so a post well worth checking out. I don’t tend to listen to all that many English dubs so I can’t really weigh in on my favourites but if you have a favourite voice actor be sure to throw a comment over on this post.

Kiritonarukami has a post this week reviewing Sword Art Online Ordinal Scale. It is a brief look at the movie broken down by story, animation, etc and will give you an idea of what to expect should you check the movie out. If you are an SAO fan and haven’t seen the movie yet, this post may be for you.

Reasons to Anime gives us 5 Reasons To Watch Cutie Honey. It is a fun list and makes the anime sound really quite fun. This is one that has been on my watch list for a very long time and I still haven’t gotten to it but this post reminded me that it exists. Will probably need to get to it at some point.

Yomu has a review of xxxHolic which is one of those anime that I wonder why it doesn’t get talked about more often. It was great fun coming across this review this week and if you haven’t given xxxHolic a go then be sure to check it out.

Luna gives us a reminder that it isn’t all doom and gloom this season with a list of their best bois and girls from the Spring Anime. Your sure to find someone on this list that is worth smiling over and can throw your own picks of the season in the comments so be sure to give it a read.

Animated Andy gives us an AMV for Kaguya-Sama Love is War. One thing I did really enjoy about that anime was some of the visuals throughout and this AMV takes full advantage. It’s also just really nicely put together. Well worth checking out.
