Not a bad showing given the previous handful of episodes, but neither is this an episode that is going to change your overall opinion about Kabukichou Sherlock. It works well enough but isn't satisfying as a mystery and the comedy is still very much missing the mark.
This one goes from weird to bland to fairly forgettable. Kabukichou Sherlock is just kind of stumbling along at this point as we hit what would be a mid-season lull however it turns out this somehow has been given 24 episodes. Yeesh.
We've gone from straight forward to pretty lame in terms of the cases these characters are working. Though if you want a tour around a bath house with Sherlock, Watson and Moriarty you might be in luck.
A more straight forward prove the guy is innocent case for Kabukichou Sherlock this week. While there's some character stuff on the young Moriarty which I presume might become relevant later this is perhaps the most straight forward episode of this we've had yet.
Um... Right, so the tone is all over the place. The characters are walking jokes. The case is transparent from the beginning. Why don't I hate this?
Case solving Rakugo... Not sure I'm buying that but this first episode was entertaining enough if a little bit silly. I'm kind of hoping the detectives here move beyond the one note characters they portray here because otherwise it will get old fast.
