Day 30 and the day I’ve been dreading most on this challenge: Your Favourite Anime.
How on earth could I pick just one. I certainly have favourites that I go through from time to time and anime that I come back to time and again, but to pick one that I would think always is better than the others… I honestly don’t think I can do that.
Instead I’ve chosen some of my favourites to represent the various moods I have when watching anime and the shows that I love revisiting. I’ve got a nice mix below of old and new and I think it kind of shows my overall feelings as a fan of anime
It’s fair to say I missed a few shows that I might sometimes refer to as a favourite of mine from time to time. So yeah, this is a total cheat of a response but it was the best I could do. Here’s the list of anime selected above in no particular order:
- Natsume Yuujinchou
- Death Note
- Noragami
- Assassination Classroom
- Neon Genesis Evangelion
- My Love Story
- Yuri on Ice
- Snow White with the Red Hair
- Bleach
- Darker Than Black
- Shiki
- Soul Eater
- Sailor Moon
- Black Butler
- The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya
Basically if someone said they were going to put any one of these titles on I’d pretty much be glued to the screen. When I can’t think what I want to do, one of these always crosses my mind to just turn on and watch. When things go wrong and I just want to get away from everything, these are the titles I think about. A number of them are the reason I became an anime fan.

30 Day Anime Challenge completed and I should be back to normal posting (seasonal reviews and the like) from tomorrow but it may take me a day or two to actually get back into things. Thanks for following the challenge.

No problem. I’m going to be honest, I really didn’t like the reboot of NGE and just pretend it doesn’t exist. The original TV series plus Death and Rebirth and End of Evangelion are pretty much it for me.
I agree with you and most others, choosing one seems impossible. But your list does have some very enjoyable animes. Interesting challenge to do tho!

Indeed, it’s seriously hard to just choose one. Well, since I’ve already named Steins;Gate for the highest rated, I suppose I’ll go with another of the best ones I’ve ever watched: Guilty Crown. Now, now. As much hate it got (somehow reminds me of SAO, great premise, though it went quite… not too well after a while…) and the flaws it has, I’m unable to not love it. Sure, the music and the art were amazing, but I seriously loved the story too.
As it was one of my first show, you can understand how biased and totally not objective this is, but it can’t be helped, the impact it had on me is so strong, it wouldn’t be a lie to say that it was one of the main reason I become an Otaku. Simply beautiful.
With that being said, congratulations on completing the challenge! I suppose this last one was pretty much all about personal taste, but regardless of that, I can see why (at least for some of the ones I’ve watched too) they would be chosen.
Most definitely all about personal taste and I am well aware I tend to really love really bad horror, sci-fi and fantasy so my taste is at times questionable.
I can’t even make a top ten list because I can’t choose just ten out of my favorites. But I do love your choices – at least the ones I’ve seen. I guess I’d add AoT and a couple of Sports anime and also Steins;Gate.
…and a half a dozen others. Yeah, can’t choose at all.

When I first started writing posts for the challenge, I thought for sure I’d try to at least answer this question seriously but then I got to it and realised there was no way it was going to happen. How do you even compare shows like Sailor Moon to Shiki or to Yuri on Ice. They are all brilliant but in their own way. Certainly not perfect, but highly enjoyable.

Congratulations on completing what I think is an incredible achievement 😊 This 30 day challenge is very hard indeed, but you completed it, and it was fun to read all your posts for this one. As for this final day, it’s very hard to pick a favorite. Your Lie in April is I think still my number 1, but Psycho Pass, Erased and Another also come very close 😊

I think the biggest thing I learned from doing this is that choosing just one favourite for any category is really hard because it really does change depening on my mood or how long it has been since I’ve seen something or even just what I’ve been talking about recently so what’s on my mind at the time.
Definitely a hard choice, but Sailor Moon will always have the biggest impact on me since it was my first (along with Pokemon).
Evangelion is definitely my number 1. Coming in close for me though would also be Clannad and Steins; Gate. They are all the ones I find myself recommending the most.
