100 Word Anime Hits 10,000 View Milestone in August

So, way back when I started this blog in May 2016, I don’t think I ever really imagined reaching 10,000 views ever, let alone in a single month. However, as my followers grew in number I began to think maybe it would be possible, one day. So at my first anniversary, I set the goal: 10,000 views in one month. That said, the closest I ended up getting was 9600 views in January and that was the highest month of my second year of blogging (still really happy about that one). So imagine my surprise when I noticed my stats in August leaning in the direction of 10,000 views.

Realising that without a little bit of a push I would once again fall short, I turned to twitter and asked for a little bit of a hand. Thanks to everyone who responded and helped share content over the last few days. I really appreciate you helping me to achieve this goal. With two hours to spare for the last day of the month, I finally hit the 10,000 view mark.

View Count

I can’t tell you how excited that makes me as I watch my blog continue to grow. However, what I value more than this arbitrary number I decided upon, is the interaction it has brought. So to celebrate this milestone, I want to thank each of my followers and those who visit my blog. Unfortunately, I just can’t do individual thank-yous for every single follower. Hopefully you will accept a big thank-you to you all and know how happy I am to be a part of this community.

thank you

However I would like to do some shout outs to those who have commented or shared my posts in the past month. I know I’ll have missed some people and a few are missing because their comment tracks back to an email address rather than their blog, but know that I thank you as well for visiting my blog, for taking the time to read my ramblings, and for joining me in a conversation around anime. Hopefully you continue to enjoy the content and continue to want to talk anime with me because I certainly love this part of the community.

That said, a special shout out to Raistlin: my number one commenter pretty much every month and all round great guy. If you’ve been following my twitter you know that in four days time we’ve got something special cooked up so keep your eyes peeled for it.

Also, a special shout out to Arthifis. Not only an amazing blogger, but someone who has given back to the community. I don’t doubt that I hit this target this month because I employed a number of his tips for helping your blog come up in searches and I know that August had almost as many search engine finds as reader finds. Thanks so much for sharing with the community.

If you don’t follow any of the people below, be sure to drop by. They are all fantastic members of the community and I am so happy that I’ve met them through blogging. And yes, I know I’m inconsistent in using the name of the blog or the person, but I didn’t prewrite this post because I didn’t want to jinx hitting the target so I’ve had a very short editing period for this post.

The thing about reaching a goal though is I now have to set a new one. One friend suggested that given the scale now goes up to 20,000 that should be my aim. I’m pretty sure the look I gave him spoke volumes. And really, I don’t think my goal at this point is about more views per month (though that would be great), but it is more about ensuring that people who view my site enjoy the content and get involved. On that note, I’ll have an update on my Patreon out later today.

Still, just for now, I’m going to bask in having achieved something that always just seemed out of reach and have now made a reality (with a lot of help from everyone). It kind of makes me want to reach further and see how far I can go and I hope you will all come on this journey with me.

Thanks for reading.

      1. You deserved it. I’m not that internet savvy (I can clearly run my blog but stuff like what helps you show up in searches and the like is a bit beyond me) and I really appreciate it when people take the time to explain simple steps that can be taken to make big improvements. Every little bit of advice helps and I think your posts really are helpful to everyone in the community.

I think that’s a great indicator of future success.

I’m looking forward to your future posts!

  4. Going to be sensationally cliched here but, CONGRATULATIONS!! 🎊🎉🎊🎉🎊🎉

That is an amazing achievement and you honestly deserve all of the views and support. Your blog is actually the main one that motivated me to stop being afraid of wanting to chat about anime and manga on my own space. Your passion for your work shines through and it’s stunningly motivating and inspirational to others, like meself. Wishing you 20,000 view milestone next. 💝💝💝

PS: Thank you for the shout-out. I’m very grateful!

  5. That is just…that is just….absolutely amazing: 10000 views in a single month???? Incredible. Congratulations on this stunning milestone! Oh and about that 20000 mark: you should not give that look: it’s something that I totally see happening in the future. Your blog is totally amazing, and I will continue to follow it as long as I breathe! Thanks so much for the kind words, and the shout out. Can’t wait to reveal the collab later this week! 😊😊😊 Thank you so much!😊😊😊

    1. Thanks Raistlin for your ongoing support. I definitely appreciate the conversations and the motivation your comments give me. I might still be recovering from the flu and feel like I’ve used about two boxes of tissues in the last day, but seeing my blog hit that milestone this morning made me feel like dancing. I resisted the urge and kept sensibly resting, but there’s been a really stupid smile on my face all day.

      1. Haha😂😂 Well: totally understandable. Such a milestone should really have you smiling all day: and when you are feeling better you should just totally go all out and go do that dance 😂😂
Definitely not a problem: It has been a blast following your blog, and I will continue to place comments and talk for the upcoming years!! 😊😊

    1. Thanks very much. I definitely have a few followers who don’t follow the episodic reviews but catch up on the other content. I’m just glad to meet so many great people and hopefully I can continue to offer content you enjoy.

        1. Episodic viewing doesn’t work for everyone. I used to be a binge only kind of watcher. However, I really wanted to get involved in the conversations around anime and a lot of them tend to be about what is happening right now so I started watching weekly. While my preferred method of viewing a story is still a binge, I love the social aspect of episodic viewing and the discussions in between episodes.

  6. Congratulations, Karandi!! I feel so happy for you. 😀 It’s such a huge achievement. 10k views in a month is not easy, I know that for sure. Thanks for the shout-out, I’m always happy to support you!!

      1. Believe it. 😉

That’s what happens when you produce the quantity and quality of posts you produce, including all the comments and the shout-outs. You’ve earned every view. 🙂

Heh, as opposed to me and my humble little blog, which I don’t think has ever cracked one thousand views in a month, let alone ten! (momentarily pauses to bind and gag Envy and drag it out into an empty field…)

You put so much time and effort into this and it shows! So, really, super kudos! 😉

  7. 10,000 in a month….

    Congratulations are certainly in order….

But, it shows that the old adage holds true, you get out what you put in.

Revel in the accomplishment, and then on to the next venture!
