Another week, another round up of anime related posts. Seriously, other than work (and finishing off the winter season of anime) I haven’t been up to much so nothing really to share this week. As always, if you have a post that you think needs a shout out (or know of one) feel free to add the link in the comments below.
Shameless self-promotion: As you all know I started a patreon site for my blog and am looking for patrons to support the expansion of 100 Word Anime. Thanks to my patrons who already support this site. End shameless self-promotion.
Caffeineted Telescopes gives us a brilliant post about the world building of ACCA and the small (and more obvious) details that have helped to craft a rich viewing experience. Okay, I’ll probably read anything about ACCA at this point, but this post really stood out to me because it really does zero in on one of the things that has made viewing the show so much fun. Definitely a post to check out this week if you didn’t come across it already.
The Mind of the Hybrid One gives us a review of [C] Control which is not an anime I see reviewed very often, or even hear much about which is a shame because it is kind of unique in its own (not terribly good) way. Still, if you are looking for an anime with a slightly different take on the battle genre than you might want to check out the review as the anime has a pretty cool premise even if the execution is questionable.
Weekly Motion Canon takes a closer look at episode 10 of Scum’s Wish and the ramifications of nebulous character motivation. I’m not watching this series as I don’t have access, but I’ve loved following along as others have watched it and shared their thoughts. I really like this post though because it made me think about how I would feel watching the show after the reveals of the episode. Anyway, for those watching, and those just interested, its an interesting post to read.
D Talks Anime is currently doing episodic reviews of Knights of Sidonia. It’s kind of been fun reliving the series as he watches, though I really don’t have any desire to rewatch this myself.
Cain S Latrani shares their thoughts on Bakuman. They highlight the positives and some of the problems with the series so if you’ve been thinking of checking it out, or never heard of it, this is a post well worth reading.
Black and Yellow Otaku Gamers share their thoughts on Kuromukuro. I’ve been trying to decide whether to give this one a look or not on Netflix for awhile so I really enjoyed reading their summary of it and their thoughts.
Lethargic Ramblings gives us a great post about what makes a villain interesting to them. As I also love well crafted (or at least slightly more dynamic) villains, I really enjoyed this post.
Sebastian’s Blog has a great post on Hachiman from My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU and his cynicism. I’m a big fan of this character and his cynical nature and the way it is presented and played off against the other characters, so I thoroughly enjoyed reading this post.
That’s all from me.
