It has been another great week for reading blog posts and as usual I have gathered some of my favourite posts for the week here. If I missed a post (related to anime etc) that you think should be shared feel free to add the link in the comments.
It’s a little different from the usual but Radical Rants has a top 10 list of inventions that won’t be completed in their lifetime. While a lot of these are inspired by games and shows that’s about it for a connection to my links. That said, it is a great list and makes you wonder how much better things would be if we just had…
Lita Kino has a great post this week discussing how her anime tastes have evolved. It’s a personal reflection on her journey watching anime but it makes you think about your own experiences watching anime.
A short post from Anime Girls NYC and who her favourite badass female anime character is. It is a fun list and reminds you of all the strong (literally) female characters out there.
Jill’s Writings on Anime does a great write up about episode 11 of Yuri on Ice and how the first part of the competition has played out for the characters and why. It was a fairly emotional episode and she manages to look at most of the characters and how they fared this week.
Ryuji Tatsuya’s Anime Review has a part 2 for when anime ticks them off. Given my top 5 this week of annoying tropes I really enjoyed this post and found myself nodding in agreement with quite a number of the points. Will put a minor language warning on the post though.
Ogiue Maniax has a post about Ichigo and Rukia from Bleach and whether they were the victims of Soap Opera Tactics. As someone who kind of wanted those two to end up together, I appreciated this post.
Cauthan Reviews explains how Occult;Nine manages cohesion through being eccentric. As I’m still sitting on the fence about whether I’ll watch this through once it is done I’ve enjoyed reading posts about it. Though, I must say, it still seems weird.
Marth’s Anime Blog for the 12 Days of Christmas compared the ending of Death Note in the anime to the manga. I found this interesting having never read the manga before as I always felt that the anime ending had missed an opportunity to really show us who Light was when faced with utter failure.
And that’s all from me.
