I wonder if the writer’s of Bloodivores are paying attention to their own storyline. Why are the Bloodivore prisoners surprised that someone in the prison is attempting to bite someone else? Why do they exclaim “He’s a Bloodivore”? It all just seems a bit redundant. Not to mention if Mi Liu is into Anji because she looks like his mum then that’s an even worse reason for his obsession than anything I was speculating about.
Okay, those petty complaints aside (petty complaint / fundamental issues with the story) the problem is this episode is not very good. Even compared to the previous not so great episodes, this is not very good. The dialogue is woeful. The animation took a dive to the point where characters aren’t even pretending that their words and mouths are in any way connected and you can cry without any change in your facial expression even as the pitch or your wails changes. And Anji and Mi Liu are outside because somehow while Anji was all crazed from the blood transfusion a hole appeared in the wall, right beside them. That’s fine though because at the end of the episode the rest of the prisoners finally get a door open and run out into the post apocalyptic whatever where they are for some reason. And it isn’t until the end of the episode that we catch up with our detective who is detecting and conveniently stumbling upon a bug in a stuffed toy inside the orphanage. Big surprise that the toy belonged to Anji and we saw it earlier in a flashback during the episode.
This week this show started to border on the almost unwatchably bad. We’re halfway through the 12 episodes but I wonder if I’ll manage to stick it out for another 12 particularly when it doesn’t look like anything is going to get wrapped up in 6 more episodes.
