Another week, another round of links to some great blog posts. It’s been busy thinning out the watch list for Autumn but I think I’m finally there and I’ve been loving some of the thoughts and discussions that have come from these opening weeks. As always, feel free to add a link to a post in the comments if you would like to share a great post (anime/manga/gaming related preferably).
Couch Warrior has a really great read about Days and how perseverance wins hearts. I felt this article kind of perfectly captured what I’m enjoying about watching Days.
Lethargic Ramblings shared the list of their 5 worst anime of summer. It’s an interesting list and seeing the reasoning for their choices is great. As more and more people are wrapping up summer there have been a lot of these best of and worst of lists so it’s interesting to compare what people have thought.
Another Lethargic Ramblings post that I loved this week was their First Impressions of Bloodivores. I think they really managed to capture exactly why the series just isn’t particularly good.
Wherever I Look 2.0 has a nice post about Izetta identifying the highlights of the first episode and some things that they were on the fence about. If you are still tossing up whether to pick up Izetta: The Last Witch this is worth checking out.
AnimeLoot explains why you should watch Yuri On Ice so for those of you still on the fence it may be worth checking out.
Weekend Otaku shares a fairly comprehensive review of Kill la Kill. So if you are like me and are one of the very few anime fans out there who hasn’t watched the series through yet you should probably go check it out because it might help you decide whether it is worth your time.
Bobble Anime gives a good review of Nanbaka Episode 2. I dropped this series because I just wasn’t that interested so my episode 2 review was pretty much me explaining why I wasn’t interested. If you are looking for an actual review of the episode this is a good one to check out.
And another one from Bobble Anime. They have an excellent deconstruction of the characters and events from Yuri on Ice episode 2. They’ve put a lot of thought into this post though there are a lot of spoilers if you haven’t watched the episode yet. For those who did, this is a great read.
The Glorio Blog gives us their first impressions of Occult;Nine and I must say I had more fun reading this than watching the episode. Minor language warning on the post but otherwise this was a fantastic read (though maybe not if you enjoyed the first episode of this anime).
Lastly, Arria Cross has shared a fantastic post titled 10 Little Everyday Things You Can Do To Be More Otaku over on Fujinsei. It’s a hilarious read and amusing to imagine what the world would be like if everyone actually started following that advice.
As always, if you have come across a great post, please feel free to leave a link in the comments.
